Interpretations

Upright
The Knight of Wands is fire in motion — the charge, the quest, the headlong rush into whatever calls. This is passion externalized: the person who acts on their enthusiasm immediately, who would rather apologize than ask permission, who fills every room with energy. When this force appears, it's time to move decisively. Don't overthink. Don't wait for perfect conditions. The Knight's power is in the momentum.
Reversed
In shadow, the Knight of Wands becomes recklessness without direction, aggression without purpose, or the burnout that follows unsustainable intensity. The reversed Knight may also indicate someone whose bravado masks deeper insecurity.
The Card
Knights are the questing, active expression of their suit — air of their element, the restless movement that carries ideas into action. The Knight of Wands is fire moving through air: a wildfire, impossible to contain or predict. This is the archetype of the adventurer and the risk-taker. The Knight doesn't question whether the quest is wise — the call to action is its own justification. This energy is magnificent when directed and destructive when it has no worthy opponent. The Knight teaches that passion needs a cause worthy of its intensity.
