The Four of Cups is the emotional plateau that follows abundance — so much has been given that you've stopped noticing what's being offered. Under the third decan of Cancer (Moon), emotional sensitivity turns inward. This is the card of spiritual discontent: not unhappiness exactly, but the subtle dissatisfaction that signals deeper needs. Something is being offered that you haven't yet seen.

Reversed

In shadow, the Four of Cups becomes either gratitude restored — finally seeing what was always being offered — or deeper withdrawal into emotional isolation. You may break free of apathy and reengage with life, or sink further into the comfortable numbness of refusing to feel.

The Card

Titled 'Luxury' in the Thoth tradition, this card corresponds to the third decan of Cancer (20°–30°) under the rulership of the Moon. The depths of feeling in this decan meet the Moon's reflective, turning nature. Fours stabilize their suit's energy, but in Cups, stability can become stagnation. Emotional security that was once nourishing becomes a container that's too small. The fourth cup being offered is the universe's reminder that there's always more to feel, more to receive — if you're willing to look up.
