Interpretations
Upright
The Nine of Wands is the warrior who has been tested and still stands. Under the second decan of Sagittarius (Moon), faith meets weariness. You've been through the battles, you bear the scars, and still something in you refuses to give up. This is the card of resilience: not fresh strength but the deeper kind that comes from having survived what you thought would break you.Reversed
In shadow, the Nine of Wands becomes hypervigilance or burnout — so worn from previous battles that you see threats everywhere, or so exhausted that you can't muster the energy for one more stand. Know when endurance becomes self-punishment.The Card
Titled 'Strength' in the Thoth tradition (not to be confused with the Major Arcana card), this card corresponds to the second decan of Sagittarius (10°–20°) under the rulership of the Moon. The philosophical depth of this decan meets the Moon's emotional memory.
Nines in every suit approach completion and its paradoxes. In Wands, near-completion means you've given almost everything — and must find one more reserve of fire to carry you through. The Nine is not about fighting but about enduring.Decan Correspondence
