Interpretations

Upright
The Ten of Wands carries the weight of everything fire has built, won, and defended. Under the third decan of Sagittarius (Saturn), the adventurer's journey reaches its heaviest point. You've taken on so much that the very passions that inspired you now feel like burdens. This is the card of overcommitment: success that costs too much, responsibility that eclipses joy.
Reversed
In shadow, the Ten of Wands means either collapse under self-imposed burden or the liberation of finally putting down what no longer serves you. You may be learning to delegate, simplify, or recognize that carrying everything yourself is not strength but a form of control.
The Card
Titled 'Oppression' in the Thoth tradition, this card corresponds to the third decan of Sagittarius (20°–30°) under the rulership of Saturn. The boundless aspiration of Sagittarius meets Saturn's full weight. Tens complete their suit's journey and reveal its ultimate challenge. In Wands, the challenge is that fire, followed to its extreme, can consume what it was meant to illuminate. The Ten asks: what are you carrying that you could set down? Which of these wands are truly yours, and which did you pick up out of habit or misplaced duty?
